Bethany Kristiansen

Licensed Cosmetologist/Esthetician

Licensed Massage Therapist

Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist

I have been a licensed, practicing member of the beauty industry since 2007. I started in cosmetology and began teaching soon after in 2009. The majority of my career has been spent in schools educating new industry professionals, both in cosmetology and esthetics.

I grew up with an acupuncturist dad and after his passing in 2017, I found myself more drawn to holistic perspectives and the Traditional Chinese Medicine approach to health. Much of my work is influenced by TCM and I continue to educate myself on ways to integrate this into my practice. One important modality that has become foundational for me is the use of Acutonics Tuning Forks - the set I use on all of my clients actually belonged to my dad and was used in his acupuncture practice.

For the last few years I have dedicated myself to the art of facial massage and regulating the nervous system. I spent the end of 2023 and first half of 2024 getting my massage therapy license so that I can expand my offerings in somatic bodywork.

I continue to look for new ways to create safe spaces and unique experiences for my clients, many of which are healing practitioners themselves. I am so honored to hold space for all the kind souls who find their way to me!

I am constantly taking classes, watching webinars and attending events to improve my skills and enhance my treatments - these are just a few of the more general certifications!

Many of the classes I have taken the last few years focus on the nervous system and polyvagal theory.

At our core, most estheticians are healers and want nothing more than to make others feel good. Unfortunately our industry thrives on a toxic, foundational belief that we are not good enough and need to be fixed. The estheticians are being told they need machines to get results and the machines are what have value, not us. The clients are being told they don't have good skin or facial structure, they need botox or filler or any number of services to change it. And we, as a society, are told aging is bad and we must do whatever we can to reverse it, even though we should be thankful that we have lived long enough to show signs of aging. This needs to change.

As a society, we need to spend less time buying into "easy" solutions and more time trying to actually understand what will work for us.

What will make us happy?
What is fulfilling?
What is a balanced life?
What helps us to be sane and grounded and feel really good?
What does it mean to have a regulated nervous system?
What does it feel like in our bodies when we are regulated?
How can we tell the difference between what we “should” want and what we actually want?
